A story from Jay Shetty.
We all experience stress.
Our stress can comes from workload, people issues, balancing our personal and professional lives, lack of job security and financial difficulties. The biggest challenge is we bring all of that stress back home and we dump it on the people around us.
5 by 5 rule said, if it won’t matter in 5 years, don’t spend longer than 5 minutes worrying about it. Sometime the weight we need to lose isn’t on our bodies, but it’s in our minds.
How do we handle our stress normally? Caffeine, Smoke, Medicine, Alcohol, Sugars, Carbs, Fats? Stress makes us eat more and eat worse.
There are two things we need here – mental relaxation and physical energy to do absolutely everything. When these two depleted, natural exercise is an incredible way of releasing endorphins and genuinely feeling that boost within our bodies. For mental relaxation, go for meditation. Sitting calm, be aware of your surrounding, taking in the signs and sounds in a deeper way (not just looking at the tree, but to focusing on each branch, each twig, the animals or the insects), being able to give your attention, being able to give your presence and awareness to the moment just for a few minutes, can provide so much stillness in your outer and inner lives.
